Lowest Team Total in ODI World Cup History

Every four years, the Cricket World Cup brings together the best teams from around the world, all competing for their place in the final of the WC. Some teams perform well enough to make it to the next round, while others have trouble making it in the very first round.

Every team in the ODI Cricket World Cup tries to set the highest possible score in each game. However, the lowest team total in ODI World Cup can come from poor batting or some of the best bowling from the other team. This can occur not only in lower-ranked team matches but also in high-ranked team matches.

Classic bowling from the top bowlers always results in the lowest team total in an innings. Any best fast or spin bowler can change the scenario of the match within a few moments by taking consistent wickets. As a result, the lowest score in an ODI inning is primarily due to batters’ faults exploited by excellent bowlers. This job is sometimes done by spin bowlers and sometimes by fast bowlers.

This record of scoring the lowest total in a match is very common among low-ranked teams. Canada holds the record for scoring the lowest team total in an ODI of scoring 36 runs in an inning of World Cup history. Namibia, Bangladesh, and Scotland are the other teams that have their names in the top 10 list of teams.
